Bağlı cümle kurmuş oluyorsun. Kullandığın zamana bağlı olarak do/did arasındaki tek fark birinin present, diğerinin past olması.

Bu şekliyle kullandığında aslında yine strandart S+V+O kalıbını bozmamış oluyorsun da bu detay, salla.
Yukarıdaki örnekler, dilbilgisel bağlamda tek bir cümle olduğu için (reduction falan filan) gerund yapı kullanmanı gerektirdi ancak "That" kullanman durumunda iki tane ayrı cümleyi bağlıyor olacaksın.
What I did (two years ago) was that I was working at a school.
What I do (nowadays) is that I work at a store.
İhtiyaca bağlı olarak modal, farklı tense... ne istersen kullanabilirsin.
What I mean is that...
