Dear Leonardo,
I'm having some difficulties to relate your movie and its name. The problem is the name Leo. The problem is the name.
1.Don't name your movie "Watchtower of something" if you didn't really observe that something from every angle. I know "watchtower" sounds cool but if you want to highlight a spesific idea (some orientalism here some orientalism there) you should find a proper title. (writing skills 101)
2. "I've crossed Cappadocia, Pamukkale, Ephesus, Istanbul, Konya..."
"This is Turkey lived by me from north to south..."
I recommend you to check the map of the country you're going to. If you know where these cities are on the map, well... Your navigation skills suck. Sorry.
3.Next time you travel and make a documentary about a country, try to use a different guide than they handed you in the most crowded tourist area of its most crowded city. (In our case it probably was Sultanahmet)
4. You cannot film every single type of person and place in this country, I know. But don't you think it's a little bit weird and also offensive to make a country look different then it actually is? You might not be a fan of this culture, neither do I, yet you shouldn't be biased for the love of your art.
5. I wouldn't go Italy, visit Florence, Venice and other threecities, make a movie about pasta, pizza and some people yelling around streets and name it "Watchtower of Italy" because it would be really superficial and prejudiced. Right? It would sound and seem like I have no idea about Italy. (in this case, I don't)
6. I really don't want to talk about "Ne Mutlu Türküm Diyene!" part. What the fuck Leo? Why and how did you put it there? Who were your advisers?
Thumbs up for the photography and edtitting skills though. Just change the name Leo, the recent one causes different expectations.
Thank you for your effort anyway. It's very nice of you. (Some hospitality here, some hospitality there. You know, it's our thing.)
Greetings from Istanbul (the one with mosques, pigeons and violent mothers)
