şimdi elimizde bir via c3 400mhz 256mb ramli bir canavar var. bunu ofiste kullanmak zorundayız başka alternatif yok.

Windows 98 SE (güncellemelerinin tamamı yapılacak). Ama iş yerinde kullanağız diyorsun; Windows 98 için hala lisans isterler mi, isterlerse bulabilir misin haberim yok. Yok sorun değil diyorsan kur gitsin. İnternette gezinmek için Windows 98'de Firefox 3 çalışmasa da Firefox 2 aralık 2008 ortasına kadar desteklenmeye devam edilecek. O tarihten itibaren Opera kullanabilirsin ya da direk onu kullanmaya başla; Internet Explorer 6 kullanma da ne kullanırsan kullan... Eğer çok ayrıntılı işler yapmayacaksan Office 97 işini görür diye düşünüyorum sistemi kasmaması açısından. O kadar da değil dersen Office 2000 de düşünülebilir.
Linux düşünürsen alternatifin bol. Ubundu olabilir ve onda OpenOffice.org ile Office dosyaları üzerinde çalışabilirsin. Bu yol bir lisans ücretine ihtiyaç duymuyor eğer o konuları önemsiyorsan.

Benzer bir bilgisayarda asus eee pc için fazlalıkları kırpılmış bir windows xp sürümünü kullandım. Kullanılabilecek kadar akıcı idi. Bu mantıkla lite bir xp sürümü hazırlayabilirsiniz (slipstream) Çeşitli torrent sitelerinde hazırlanmışları mevcut, fakat kendi lisans numaranızla kursanız bile yasadışı duruma düşebilir, düşmeyedebilir bir fikrim yok.
